The calculator converts the provided dates into JavaScript Date objects. It treats the target date as the end of that day (23:59:59) so you get the full-day countdown. The current date defaults to the current time if you pick today; otherwise it uses the start of the selected day.
After the calculation, the remaining time is displayed in both a compact formatted string and a detailed breakdown. This way, you can quickly ascertain how many days, hours, minutes, and seconds are left.
